| Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Mental Health Clinician II for the Eric B. Chandler Health Center at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
This position provides behavioral health consultation utilizing a team based model to children, adolescents, adults and families in order to improve psychosocial functioning.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Provide comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of behavioral health clinets.
- Provide effective treatment planning and assisting clients in successfully achieving goals.
- Evaluate crisis situations and apply appropriate interventions.
- Actively participate in team and other meetings that support EBCHC's integrated health care model to provide comprehensive care for clients.
- Assist in the detection of "at risk" patients and development of plans to prevent further psychological or physical deterioration.
- Assist the primary care team in developing care management processes such as the use of guidelines, disease management techniques, case management, and patient education to improve self-management of chronic disease.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Master's Degree in mental health discipline plus two (2) years post Master's experience in the mental health field.

| Certifications/Licenses |
- Independent license to practice as required by New Jersey state laws governing the discipline (Licensed Professional Counselor - LPC, Licensed Clinical Social Worker - LCSW, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - LMFT, Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor - LCADC, Licensed Psychologist).
- Applicants possessing a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work.

| Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Excellent working knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidence based treatments for medical and mental health conditions.
- Ability to work through brief patient contacts as well as to make quick and accurate clinical assessments of mental and behavioral conditions.
- Should be comfortable with the pace of primary care, working with an interdisciplinary team, and have strong communications skills.
- Good knowledge of psychopharmacology.
- Ability to design and implement clinical pathways and protocols for treatment of selected chronic conditions.
