Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Community Assistant II - Hudson County for the Rutgers Cooperative Extension.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Coordinates program schedules and site logistics based on the needs of the program site.
  • Provides consistent communication with volunteer educators and community sites about program plans and schedules.
  • Implements after-school enrichment programs alongside teen volunteers and college students.
  • Creates appropriate program evaluation materials and impact reports.
  • Creates and updates 4-H paper and electronic marketing for programs.
  • Nurtures relationships with youth, developing programs that fit community needs and interests.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education.

  • Competent computer, oral and written communication skills.

Equipment Utilized

  • Computer, printer and related software including but not limited to Microsoft Office suite and ZSuites.
  • Email for communications and research, locally and nationally.
  • Equipment related to teaching (laptop, projector, etc.) - Working knowledge of current and changing electronic technology.
  • Apple technology and IOS.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
* Ability to carry demonstration supplies, presentation equipment and class materials.
Special Conditions

  • This is a grant-funded position, employment in this position is contingent upon the availability of funds. This position will expire once the grant has ended.
  • This position requires the ability to work in the daytime, evenings and weekends, as needed.
