Overview

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Responsible for safeguarding systems through vulnerability assessments, risk mitigation, and compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards.

* Conduct vulnerability assessments using tools to identify system weaknesses.
* Perform risk analysis to evaluate the impact of identified vulnerabilities on mission-critical systems.
* Recommend and implement remediation strategies to mitigate risks.
* Scan systems for viruses, malware, and other malicious software.
* Monitor and respond to security incidents and anomalies in real-time.
* Maintain and update antivirus and endpoint protection systems.
* Support the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process for system accreditation and re-accreditation.
* Prepare and maintain security documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, and Security Assessment Reports (SARs).
* Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies and NIST SP 800-53 controls.
* Design and implement secure system architectures in accordance with DoD standards.
* Integrate security controls into system development and operational environments.
* Collaborate with system administrators and developers to ensure secure configurations.
* Compliance and Certification.
* Ensure systems meet DoD 8570.01-M requirements for IAT Level II.
* Maintain compliance with DoD Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) requirements and participate in continuous monitoring activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* 4 years of professional experience in relation to IT security with the DoD or Navy.
* Experience with vulnerability analysis, risk analysis, scanning for viruses and other software that is detrimental.
* Qualified experience in accreditation of systems and audits.
* This position is required to be designated as IAT II level. (Security+)
* Must have a Secret clearance or higher depending on the contract requirements.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. In addition, a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States are required.
