• Prepare and organize instruments, supplies, and equipment needed for surgical procedures, ensuring readiness and accuracy.

• Assist the surgical team during procedures by anticipating needs, maintaining the sterile field, and supporting patient and team safety.

• Obtain additional supplies and equipment during procedures as needed, while monitoring the operating room environment.

• Maintain adherence to infection prevention standards and Standard/Transmission-Based Precautions at all times.

• Support room turnover, cleaning, and equipment care to promote efficiency and workflow.

• Participate in skill development, team collaboration, and orientation or training of new staff or students as assigned.

• Requires high school diploma or GED and graduation from a nationally accredited surgical technology program.
• Internal applicants, in good standing, with 3 or more year of recent operating room experience, who are eligible for certification, will be considered in place of education requirement for completion of surgical technology program.
• Certified through a national certifying body. Must maintain active certification throughout employment.

Preferred:

• Associate Degree or higher encouraged.
