Job Description:

Overview:

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Safety Specialist focus specializes in implementing policies that ensure the safety, health and welfare of people at the workplace, and that the firm is in compliance with regulatory guidelines, policies, programs and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead EHS Programs: Develop and implement health and safety programs that meet regulatory requirements and align with company goals.

  • Ensure Compliance: Monitor and ensure adherence to OSHA, ISO 45001, and other applicable regulations. Maintain accurate documentation and reporting.

  • Conduct Risk Assessments: Perform audits, inspections, and incident investigations. Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.

  • Deliver Training: Create and facilitate EHS training programs to promote awareness and safe practices across the organization.

  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices.

  • Provide Technical Expertise: Advise on chemical safety, ergonomics, waste management, and emergency preparedness.

  • Responds to emergencies, incidents and accidents; investigates causes and recommends corrective actions.

  • Monitor safety performance metrics and assist with reporting and data analysis.

  • Conducts safety surveys to identify and mitigate occupational hazards.

Education & Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work| Required
