Job Description




As a Security Officer - Healthcare Floor Monitor in Pittsburgh, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you'll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability-giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol designated hospital areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing support as needed. Your presence will contribute to a welcoming environment for staff, patients, and visitors. You will interact professionally with individuals, respond to situations including those requiring restraint, and utilize computer or tablet systems when necessary. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, and visitors at the healthcare location by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including during emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following the guidelines and protocols of the healthcare environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and monitor for any irregularities, taking into account the dynamic nature of the healthcare setting.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, hazards, or suspicious activities according to Allied Universal and site-specific protocols.
  • Support access control procedures by monitoring entrances, exits, and restricted areas within the healthcare location as required.
  • Assist with providing directions or general information to patients, visitors, and staff, maintaining a professional and approachable presence.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff and public officials as needed during emergencies and/or critical incidents.
  • Maintain awareness of environmental and/or operational changes within the healthcare location that may impact security-related responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must provide proof of required vaccinations in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Must be able to work in hospital environments that may include morgue areas.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to safely restrain individuals as required in a hospital setting.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
