Now, we're entering a new phase of growth and are looking for to strengthen our financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and support the company's continued expansion and mission readiness.

What You'll Do


  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month-end close.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Maintain and reconcile inventory, cost of goods sold (COGS), and work-in-progress (WIP) accounts.
  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and vendor payments.
  • Implement and manage a cost accounting system to track product costs, margins, and variances.
  • Partner with operations to analyze production costs, inventory levels, and efficiency metrics.
  • Develop reporting processes for material usage, labor costs, and overhead allocation.
  • Support inventory audits and ensure accuracy in perpetual inventory records.
  • Lead technical accounting research and application of new accounting standards and policies.
  • Maintain and optimize PDW's NetSuite ERP system, including configuration, reporting, and process improvement. Support financial audits and manage relationships with external auditors.
  • Develop and document business processes and internal controls to maintain compliance and efficiency.
  • Partner with FP&A, Operations, and Leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting team members, fostering professional growth and high performance.
  • Drive automation and system improvements to enhance accuracy and scalability.
  • Assist with special projects such as due diligence, system integrations, and process transitions as PDW scales.


Requirements


  • Active CPA license required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Manufacturing company experience (start-up preferred).
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting principles.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP required.
  • Proven ability to manage month-end close and deliver accurate financial results under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience developing and implementing internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


Preferred


  • Background with government contract accounting (DFARS, DCAA compliance).
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA.


Work Environment

This position typically operates in a standard office setting. It may involve exposure to manufacturing or testing environments on occasion. The role may require travel to supplier facilities or company sites. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime as needed to meet reporting deadlines. This position can be based in Huntsville, AL (preferred) or raemote within the U.S.

ITAR Requirement

In compliance with International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR), candidates must be U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) or individuals granted asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
