Essential Functions
- Provide oversight for projects being implemented by Gas Major Projects organization.
- Manage, advise, and direct third-party inspection staff, and contractors, associated with natural gas construction in accordance with all applicable requirements, ensuring safe, reliable service to customers in an efficient, economical manner
- Develop and manage the effective completion for assigned projects across geographic boundaries whenever necessary with respect to safety, scope, schedule and budget.
- Advises and ensures proper methods of pipeline installations and other maintenance activities are performed by the contractor.
- Optimize the effectiveness of the contractors that are assigned by being the central point of contact for all the construction functions.
- Support and hold employees and contractors accountable for the Core 4 Responsibilities, NiSource Health and Safety manual, and ensuring a safe working environment focused on safe operations with zero incidents.
- Identify and support of the development of new or revised processes/procedures for welding and transmission functions.
- Coordinate with customers, contractors, vendors, construction services leadership, welders, engineering, field operations and logistics centers to ensure cost-effective construction.
- Review and approved daily progress reports for accuracy completed by Chief inspector.
- Creates and maintains valued relationships with government entities, industry associates, company affiliates, and contractors.
- Communicates concerns about contractor qualifications and certifications and ensures proper documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering programs / Technical programs accredited by ABET or 6 years equivalent job knowledge and/or experience.
- Minimum of 2 years field experience related to gas construction or 6 years of experience including work in one or more of the following areas: Measurement and Regulation, Project Management, Engineering,
- Strong knowledge of on-the-job safety & compliance requirements.
- Demonstrates a high-level of confidence in the ability to lead a team and a project to successful conclusion.
- Demonstrates outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with all stakeholders.
- Demonstrates strategic thinking, planning, risk assessment and prioritization of project activities skills.

Salary Range*: $93,800.00 - $140,700.00
*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity. Posting Start Date: 2025-10-24
