SUMMARY
The Senior Salesforce Solutions Architect is both a strategic leader and a hands-on builder. This role combines business analysis, process engineering, and declarative Salesforce expertise with team leadership responsibilities. In addition to designing and delivering scalable Salesforce solutions, the Senior Solution Architect leads a team of Salesforce Solution Architects and Administrators, providing mentorship, oversight, and direction. This role partners closely with developers, architects, and integration experts to evaluate when customization or integrations are needed, ensuring every solution balances business needs with technical feasibility and platform best practices. *Travel is required for this role up to 20% frequency. Hybrid work schedule in Alliant Offices - Los Angeles, CA; Chicago, IL; Tampa, FL; Naples, FL; or Atlanta, GA.*
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead, mentor, and manage Salesforce Solution Architects and Administrators.
Set team standards and best practices for requirements gathering, solution design, and delivery.
Provide coaching, skills development, and performance feedback to elevate team capabilities.
Act as a point of escalation for solution design decisions and platform issues.
Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders on Salesforce strategy.
Partner with business stakeholders to capture needs, pain points, and goals.
Lead requirements definition sessions and document business and functional requirements.
Analyze and re-engineer processes to improve efficiency, compliance, and scalability.
Develop prototypes, process flows, and solution options to validate designs.
Translate requirements into Salesforce declarative solutions (Flows, validation rules, Lightning App Builder, etc.).
Oversee and review solution designs produced by the team, ensuring quality and alignment with standards.
Collaborate with developers, architects, and integration experts when custom development or system integrations are needed.
Participate in design discussions to evaluate out-of-the-box (OOTB) vs. customization trade-offs.
Own configuration and manage deployment of approved solutions across environments.
Document solution designs, data models, and change impacts.
Support and oversee backlog refinement, user story definition, and Agile delivery practices.
Define acceptance criteria and testing plans for requirements across the team.
Establish and promote Salesforce governance, security, and data integrity practices.
Identify opportunities for platform improvements and drive adoption of best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Marketing, Finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Seven (7) or more years of experience as a Salesforce Administrator or similar role with a focus on the Salesforce platform
Three (3) or more years leading or mentoring Salesforce teams (Solution Architects, Admins, or Analysts)

Platform App Builder Certification
Sales Cloud Consultant Certification
Service Cloud Consultant Certification
Salesforce Business Analyst or Experience Designer Certification
Salesforce Application or System Architecture Certification
SKILLS
Proven ability to deliver declarative Salesforce solutions in enterprise environments.
Strong experience balancing declarative, custom development, and integration approaches.
Strong leadership and people management skills with experience developing high-performing teams.
Strong background in process mapping, requirements gathering, and stakeholder management.
Knowledge of Salesforce declarative tools and governance best practices.
Ability to engage technical experts (developers, architects, integration teams) in design discussions and weigh OOTB vs. customization trade-offs.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical groups.
Strategic thinker who can set direction, but also execute tactically when needed.
Proactive, collaborative, and accountable with a strong ownership mindset.
