What you'll do:

  • Review contracts and work from drawings, prints, schematics, diagrams, bill of materials, customer specifications, written and verbal instructions to plan, layout and determine methods, materials operational sequences and the like for the building and repair of reducers and gearing assemblies. Work in-house or travel to customer site for installation, troubleshooting, repair and start-up of mechanical systems.
  • Pull materials, supplies and equipment; machine, weld, and fabricate parts and components according to engineering specifications.
  • Layout parts, hardware and the like; build and install subassemblies. Check assemblies for proper construction and fasteners for proper torque; test and verify proper operation and adherence to customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot new units or customer repairs for reducers and other mechanical systems; tear down, clean and analyze unit to determine extent of trouble; repair or replace defective parts; test and make final adjustments as required.
  • Sand, paint, mark, and crate completed units; prepare proper paperwork and appropriate literature; label, move to shipping area and assist with proper packaging.
  • Use lift equipment as necessary to move and position parts, equipment, materials and assemblies.
  • Record job information including test documentation and sign off.
  • Detect and report equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to supervision. Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion; observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations while on customer premises; maintain assigned service vehicle including reporting requirements as required.
  • Perform calibration of gages used for final accept or reject criteria.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

Requirements

  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Mechanical aptitude, self-starter with a strong desire to succeed, & sense of humor
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record (MVR)
  • This position is not eligible for relocation benefits and is expected to be performed on site.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US. We are not able to offer sponsorship of work visas for this position.
