SR. PROJECT ESTIMATOR

This Estimator role is an on-site role at a uranium fuel enrichment facility in Eunice, NM. Must be able to successfully complete any training and screening elements required to obtain an NRC L-level security clearance for site access.


Position Summary

The individual is capable of preparing detailed Client and/or D&Z cost estimates through deliverables established by operations /construction or a Client's "Request for Quote", including craft/staff labor, materials, equipment/rentals, indirect costs, cash flow and long term planning. Maintain selective estimating input to projects (change control) and interface with Client on estimating needs.


In this role, here is an example of the type of work you would do:

  • Concept Design deliverables
  • Perform detailed quantity take-off's from drawings.
  • Develop craft hour productivity rates with minimal information about specific work tasks, through a "crew up process" or by researching past project cost history to enhance the validity of the estimate. Perform estimating updates as required.
  • Produces total project cost estimates for client to support their allocation of budgets for expenses and capital projects. Determines labor hours and dollars for engineering, procurement, maintenance, modifications, and construction activities. Develop material & subcontractor pricing.
  • Interface with all disciplines supporting proposals and EPCM estimates.
  • Support audits and reviews as requested.
  • Support resource loaded schedules with estimates.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Ability to work independently, use problem-solving judgment, and organize and prioritize work assignments.
  • Professional conduct with diplomacy and maintain confidentiality where necessary.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with thorough understanding of Microsoft Excel and estimating tools required to successfully perform estimating job functions.
  • Basic knowledge of estimating resources (e.g., reference material).

And if you have these qualifications:

  • Some college or post-secondary education preferred, or a minimum of five plus years related experience in a construction environment.
  • Six plus years of experience in related estimating assignments.
  • Computer proficiency certifications are a plus or equivalent education.

  • Climbing (e.g., ascending/descending stairs, ladders, using feet and legs or hands/arms to climb)
  • Hearing
  • Talking, with capacity to express thoughts orally (e.g., accurately and quickly convey spoken instruction to workers)
  • Capacity to think, concentrate and focus over long periods of time
  • Ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and in written form) with all levels of management, supervision, craft and support functions
  • Ability to read and write complex documents in the English language
  • Capacity to reason and make sound decisions
  • Ability to regularly perform all job functions at Company's office or work site
  • Ability to successfully complete elements required to obtain unescorted access to Client facilities/plants (background screening, drug/alcohol screening, psychological screening, training, etc.)


In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $91,000 - $206,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of benefits ).
