Leads and guides Invasive Cardiovascular Technologists in the performance of duties. Performs all functions of an Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist.
Job Responsibility
1.Leads and guides Invasive Cardiovascular Technologists in the performance of duties.
Participates in orientation and ongoing training of staff.
Assists in prioritizing and assigning work based on workflow fluctuations.
Handles and/or acts as a resource for difficult or complex imaging issues.
Maintains related department supply and equipment inventory.
2.Performs all functions of an Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist.
Performs a variety of duties to prepare unit for cardiac catheterization or other invasive as well as non-invasive procedures.
Prepares patient for invasive diagnostic procedures.
Monitors patient during procedure, i.e., electrocardiogram, blood pressure, chest pain. May administer oxygen and nitroglycerin, as needed, under direct supervision of physician performing procedure.
Collects all pertinent diagnostic data and all necessary calculations for physician's interpretation of results. Balances, calibrates and records appropriate hemodynamic data. Performs blood gas determinations using oximeter method while handling blood in safe and appropriate manner.
Intervenes in cardiopulmonary emergencies effectively. Assists in emergencies until physician takes over.
Performs laboratory test procedures within established criteria.
Operates all cardiac equipment properly in a reliable manner, per departmental standards, complying with all safety guidelines/policies.
Performs various x-ray exams, if qualified as a licensed Radiology Technologist, as required.
3.Performs related duties, as required.
Job Qualification
Graduate of an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology AND Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), required
OR
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology AND current NYS Radiologic Technologist License, required.
BCLS and ACLS, required.
Minimum of two (2) years invasive cardiovascular experience, required.
*Shift may start as early as 6am and as late as 11am, flexible schedule, preferred.
On-call shifts needed for the role.
