Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day activities related to the support, research, analysis, and implementation of Windows Server, VMware, cloud technologies, data backup/recovery systems, IT security best practices, fundamental networking, and some Linux
- System architecture, OS upgrades, patch management, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring
- Provide technical support of on-premises, cloud, and virtual server environments
- Create system documentation and standard operating procedures
- Collaborate with cross-division teams and federal management on daily operations and project work
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree plus 1 additional year of relevant professional experience - preferred
- Associate degree plus 3 additional years of relevant experience - required
- Team player with a positive attitude and great communication skills; Ability to complete work independently and, at times, with minimal supervision
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server, VMware, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), Powershell scripting, data protection, IT security best practices, fundamental networking, and Linux
- Real-world experience managing Active Directory, group policy objects, DNS, DHCP
- Experience with patch management tools, such as Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
- Familiarity with federal government security standards (FISMA, NIST, DISA STIG, CIS, CISA), IT security best practices, threat protection, and scanning tools
- Experience with standard server networking protocols, storage and data management
- Understanding of change control processes and service desk ticketing systems
