What to Expect
The Process Technican will lead and support new part number implementations and drive physical changes to material flow systems (labelling, racking) from the dock to the line. In this role, the Technician is responsible to execute all activities required to introduce updated or new material to the production team; as well as support the implementation of any PC improvement projects; including signage, layout changes, ergonomic improvements, home location changes and general kaizen initiatives. The Process Technician works together with Production and Material Flow Engineering to ensure overall success of the team.
What You'll Do
- Drive change control for the introduction of new materials into production
- Perform systematic configuration updates for new or changing material
- Coordinate with external warehouses to pull new material into the factory
- Provide NPI and Material Planning with inventory counts on obsolete material
- Remove and quarantine obsolete material in accordance with disposition instructions
- Assist in the implementation of new PC processes (dock, supermarket, or delivery methods)
- Support special projects for PC including layout implementation, signage, labeling, racking installation and repair
What You'll Bring
- Strong computer skills: ability to update systems quickly and accurately
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP/MES/MOS/WMS is strongly desired
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite
- Knowledge of factory material flow from dock to line
- Ability to multi-task and manage time while supporting multiple projects
- A self-starter that can effectively articulate initiatives to colleagues and management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Essential Physical Demands
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain
- Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 30 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
- Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
