Primary Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of the Materials Resource Operations Coordinator will be to assist with material sourcing and handling and accomplish tasks that are being duplicated in the work order and materials management process. Tasks will include materials research, negotiating with vendors, distributing materials across campus, providing administrative roles for paperwork and receipts, and liaison with the Facilities Management Finance team.
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Essential Job Duties

  • Source and procure equipment, parts, supplies, and services on behalf of the maintenance shop supervisors and skilled maintenance technicians. This includes stock and non-stock orders.
  • Apply working knowledge of campus maintenance requirements and practices.
  • Understand and research vendor catalogs and websites.
  • Apply or quickly obtain knowledge of MRO materials, parts, and supplies.
  • Apply expertise in Microsoft Office and other related programs, and master new technologies quickly.
  • Draft and execute procurement documentation with standard terms and conditions.

Other Work Responsibilities

  • Research and select new vendors, materials, and supplies alternatives.
  • Assist both internal and external customers professionally and courteously at all times.
  • Research and select new vendors, materials, and supply alternatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and/or delegated to support all operations.

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

  • Graduation from a four-year college or university and 1- 3 years of program associate experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience in a warehouse/ inventory management setting.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management and inventory control.
  • Experience in tracking data and record keeping.
  • Knowledge of negotiation skills.
  • Experience working in a team setting.
  • Ability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork.
  • Ability to effectively communicate the English language (reading, writing, interpretation, and comprehension).
  • Effective skills in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication, however, excellent communication skills are preferred.
  • Computer literate. Knowledge and skill with Google Applications, Microsoft Word, and Excel, and willingness to learn new programs.

Necessary Licenses or Certifications
A valid driver's license.To operate assigned vehicles on and/or off-campus and is required to possess, maintain, or obtain a valid driver's license upon appointment to the position.
