The Manager, IT Quality Assurance will be responsible for leading the Quality Assurance/App Software Tester Team (QA) in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions and systems across the organization. This position will establish and drive QA strategies, standards, processes, and metrics to ensure deliveries meet business expectations, regulatory requirements, and performance benchmarks. The Manager, IT Quality Assurance will ensure quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycle while balancing agility, risk, and cost efficiency.

By fostering a culture of continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration, the Manager, IT Quality Assurance supports enterprise technology goals while enabling teams to release reliable and secure solutions. This role ensures consistent application of testing best practices, drives test automation initiatives, and provides strategic guidance for QA planning and resource allocation.

Job Details:

Quality Assurance Strategy & Execution

  • Define and implement QA strategy, processes, and metrics aligned with project and organizational goals.

  • Drive test planning, execution, and reporting across projects with a focus on efficiency, scalability, and risk mitigation.

  • Lead adoption of automated testing frameworks and ensure a balanced mix of manual and automated test coverage.

  • Oversee quality gates and ensure rigorous validation across unit, integration, system, and user acceptance testing phases.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of QA/App Testers, providing guidance in test execution, career development, and technical training.

  • Promote cross-training and shared knowledge across platforms and domains.

  • Conduct performance evaluations, establish goals, and foster a high-performing and collaborative team culture.

Project & Resource Management

  • Allocate QA resources based on project timelines, complexity, and criticality.

  • Partner with project managers, business analysts, and developers to ensure shared understanding of testing scope, timelines, and priorities.

  • Manage risks and escalate quality concerns proactively.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as QA liaison to IT leadership, business stakeholders, and vendors.

  • Ensure consistent communication of testing progress, risks, and defect trends.

  • Facilitate quality checkpoints and participate in project reviews and post-implementation analysis.

  • Oversee implementation and maintenance of test management tools, automation frameworks, and defect tracking systems.

  • Ensure testing documentation is maintained, auditable, and aligned with regulatory/compliance standards where applicable.

  • Promote continuous improvement in test design, coverage, and reporting.

Job Requirements:

  • BS/BA Degree in Management Information Systems, Business, Management, Computer Science, or related equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Quality Assurance or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.

  • Must be able to obtain government clearance after hire. US Citizenship is required by the US government in order to obtain government clearance.

  • Deep understanding of software testing methodologies (manual and automated), defect tracking systems, and QA tools.

  • Working knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and traditional SDLC practices.

  • Experience in test planning, execution, and reporting for APIs, databases, and UI-based systems.

  • Project management and vendor management proficiency preferred.

  • Proven project management in planning, execution and controlling.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement across technical and business domains.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, or equivalent are a plus.

The starting pay range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000/year. An individual's actual compensation will depend on the individual's qualifications and experience.
