About the role

As a leader of the Program Management Office (PMO), you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and governance of all Technology projects and programs within our organization. This pivotal role involves aligning data initiatives with strategic objectives, optimizing resource allocation for data projects, and ensuring successful delivery within scope and budget.

This role will help regional and product business leaders make informed decisions based on data-driven insights about which investments to pursue, continue, modify, or terminate. It involves assessing the performance, cost, and risks associated with each component of the Technology portfolio, as well as considering factors like business value, return on investment from data initiatives, and potential synergies among different data projects. You will manage a global team of Project and Program Managers, ensuring their Technology projects are successfully delivered on time and within budget.

Role responsibilities



  • Initiate and set team and program goals aligned with the organization's strategic objectives for data-driven decision-making.
  • Partner with product and technology leadership, executive management, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects within the Technology portfolio.
  • Plan and drive PI planning events, setting realistic expectations for deliverables related to data collection, analysis, and insight generation.
  • Responsible for the successful management, coordination, and delivery of assigned Technology projects on time and within budget.
  • Perform periodic project reviews of the team, proactively identifying risks and issues related to data quality, scalability, and integration with mitigation plans and proper communication.
  • Ensure data project change management processes are applied at the individual project and entire portfolio level, securing approvals as necessary.
  • Be a thought leader in driving process improvements within the Technology lifecycle, identifying improvement opportunities with solutions, and acting as a change agent.
  • May manage projects while mentoring and developing staff in data analysis, visualization, and project management best practices.
  • Provide executive status updates at the C-level with crisp and clear communication of data insights and project progress.
  • Manages both exempt and non-exempt staff.
  • Makes complex decisions and recommendations under limited direction, using a high degree of initiative and independent judgment, particularly concerning data strategy and analytics implementation.


Role requirements



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, plus 15+ years of progressive management experience, including large-scale project management and personnel management.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience working directly with senior leaders in managing multiple, large cross-functional teams or projects related to Technology, influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.
  • Certification PMI-PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or other relevant Technology certifications will be a plus.
  • Expertise in resource management for data teams, including capacity planning and allocation for data projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics for data-driven initiatives.
  • Outstanding knowledge of data analysis, reporting, budgeting for data projects, and the data analytics lifecycle.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly in translating complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with proven ability to build and lead high-performing Technology teams.
  • An analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities, particularly in identifying and resolving data-related challenges.
  • Experience in analyzing data and using this data for process and program improvements and to inform data-driven strategy.
  • Outstanding facilitation and communication skills, including the ability to inspire others towards data-centric goals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at a technical or non-technical level, depending on the audience, concerning data analysis, visualization, and strategic implications.
  • Superior leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills, including the ability to lead a high-performing Technology team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all different levels in the organization on data-driven projects.
  • Self-starter/leader who can anticipate department needs in a proactive manner regarding data acquisition, analysis, and deployment.
  • Strategic planning and organizational development knowledge and skills, with a focus on integrating Technology into broader business strategies.
  • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long-range goals, establish priorities, and organize resources within the Technology landscape.
  • Ability to motivate and influence others to embrace data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and occasionally deviate from established practices and procedures for new situations and problems related to data quality, integration, and analysis.
  • Proficiency of Microsoft Office/Google products including Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, and familiarity with data analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Salary

The base salary range is $175,000 - $190,000 USD per year, total on target compensation includes a base salary plus long-term and short-term incentives that align with individual and company performance.
