Department: EMS Program - Wyandotte Location: Henry Ford Hospital, 2333 Biddle Ave, Wyandotte, MI 48192 Schedule: Part-Time (2x12 Hour Shifts/Week) Shift: Days
Job Summary: Responsible for establishing and managing the relationship with pre-hospital emergency medical services providers at the local, regional and state agencies that oversee the provision of emergency medical services. Design processes to enable efficient patient access to the hospital by all transport agencies. Represents the organization in inter-agency emergency preparedness activities at the state and local level. Attends and represents the hospital at all regional levels outside EMS and Fire agencies and all regional meetings. Develops, designs and implements EMS continuing education programs for all EMS providers. Responsible for all EMS communication from the hospital and for all complaint resolution between EMS and the hospital. Education/Experience Required: * High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Completion of a Paramedic program. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of the emergency medical services environment. * Three to five (3-5) years of progressively more responsibility and experience relating to ambulance services and state EMS regulations and program management or leadership position. * One (1) year of management or command officer experience with a Michigan-based EMS provider agency. * Proficient computer skills preferred with experience working in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interact with a wide variety of individuals and groups. * Demonstrate interpersonal skills necessary to effectively deal with and manage a variety of internal and external stakeholders within Henry Ford Health Services and the community. * Demonstrate analytical skills necessary to independently compile data, analyze information, identify problems and solutions. * Ability to understand and apply personal computer based software including development and applications of spreadsheets, graphics and word processing programs. Certifications/Licensures Required: * Paramedic must be licensed and maintain State of Michigan Licensure. * ACLS and PALS certification and maintenance. * Advanced Hazmat Life Support qualifications.
