Job Description: The Director of Total Rewards is responsible for developing, leading, and executing the organization's total rewards strategy, encompassing compensation, benefits, and recognition programs. This role ensures that all reward programs are competitive, equitable, and aligned with company values, business goals, and talent strategies. The Director partners closely with HR/Talent Management, Finance, and Leadership teams to design and deliver programs that attract, retain, and motivate top talent while maintaining fiscal responsibility and compliance. Total Rewards Strategy
- Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive total rewards strategy that aligns with the company's mission, values, and business objectives.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on compensation and benefits matters impacting attraction, retention, and engagement.
- Analyze market trends and benchmark data to ensure competitive positioning and alignment with organizational goals.
Compensation
- Partner with HR and business leaders to integrate compensation and recognition frameworks with performance management, talent development, and succession planning processes.
- Oversee the design, development, and administration of base pay structures, job architecture, market pricing, and incentive programs.
- Lead annual compensation cycles, including salary planning, merit increases, bonuses, and adjustments for promotions or market corrections.
- Manage the creation and maintenance of salary bands, career levels, and pay equity analyses.
- Ensure pay practices are fiscally responsible, legally compliant, and consistent across the organization.
- Develop and maintain metrics and dashboards to monitor compensation and benefits program effectiveness and ROI.
Benefits
- Work with Leadership and HR team to define the strategy, design, and administration of health, welfare, retirement, and wellness programs.
- Evaluate and negotiate benefit vendor contracts to optimize value, cost, and quality of service.
- Lead continuous improvement in benefits administration through technology, automation, and data-driven insights.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, including FLSA, ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the integration of total rewards data with enterprise systems (e.g., Workday, Viewpoint) to improve reporting accuracy and decision-making
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or relative experience in Human Resources, Finance, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 5 years in compensation and benefits leadership.
- Deep knowledge of compensation design, benchmarking methodologies, and benefits program management.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen; ability to interpret complex data and present insights to senior leaders.
- Experience managing third-party vendors, brokers, and consultants.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and change management skills.
