MaineHealth Barbara Bush Children's Hospital (MHBBCH) at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine is currently seeking a 0.75 FTE Pediatric Hospital Medicine physician to join their team of experienced providers. MHBBCH is a 95-bed embedded pediatric hospital serving the tertiary care needs of Maine. Services provided through MHBBCH are comprehensive, including a PICU, NICU, intermediate care units for both newborn and pediatric care, a dedicated pediatric section in the ED, and a 35-bed inpatient unit. MHBBCH is fully staffed with all major pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties, as well as child life, social work, teaching, and rehabilitation services.

Our pediatric hospitalists manage hospitalized patients from birth through young adulthood (with a broad range of acute and chronic conditions and a mix of general and sub-specialty pediatric diagnoses), provide newborn care (~60% well newborns, ~40% level 2 newborns) and consultations. We currently have a team of both full-time and part-time Pediatric Hospitalists. Members of the Pediatric Hospitalist team are integral teaching faculty in the Undergraduate and Graduate Medical Education Programs at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center- Portland.

This position offers:

  • Team-based care model with collaborative approach to care.
  • The successful candidate would have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine (required).
  • Optional academic appointment to University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine.
  • Participation in key hospital leadership roles and pursue quality improvement, education, and clinical research interests.

Qualifications:

  • MD/DO from an accredited medical school.
  • PHM BE/BC preferred, not required and Pediatric BE/BC required
