Job Description

Visa's Technical Product Management team is seeking a seasoned Technical Product Manager for Developer Experience (DevEx). This role blends product strategy with technical depth, spanning on-premise and cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will champion developer productivity, lead infrastructure and operations modernization, and drive adoption of modern development tools and platform services.

You will partner with engineers, architects, and product teams to design roadmaps, prioritize capabilities, and deliver products that reduce friction and accelerate innovation for Visa developers globally.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Product Leadership

  • Define and execute 3-5 year DevEx product roadmaps aligned with Visa's modernization and automation objectives.

  • Manage product portfolios, set priorities, and deliver on schedule with high quality.

  • Use frameworks (Balanced Scorecard, TCO, TCC) to track value streams and measure ROI.

Developer Experience & Platform Services

  • Advocate for developers by embedding feedback into product planning and execution.

  • Deliver products and services that streamline onboarding, automation, and self-service.

  • Define product collateral (Product Guides, Integration Guides, Release Notes) to ensure clarity of use.

Technical Expertise & Execution

  • Collaborate with engineering to build scalable products leveraging containers, APIs, and modern DevOps practices.

  • Ensure robust support for SQL-based workflows, network-aware infrastructure, and enterprise-grade operations.

  • Partner with teams on UAT, bug bashes, surveys, and telemetry to validate features and improve adoption.

Innovation & Cloud Enablement

  • Drive adoption of cloud-native technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and hybrid architectures.

  • Support observability, security, middleware, and database services as core enablers of DevEx.

  • Explore emerging technologies including Generative AI, LLMs, and agentic tooling to improve developer efficiency.

Collaboration & Delivery

  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and user stories.

  • Partner across organizational boundaries to align dependencies and deliver with agility.

  • Lead backlog grooming, sprint planning, and release orchestration across multiple squads.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

* 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

* 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD

* 3+ years of direct Product Management experience in technical domains.

* Strong SQL coding proficiency and ability to analyze large-scale datasets.

* Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and distributed systems.

* Experience with infrastructure and operations, containers, and platform services.

* Proven track record working in Agile environments, writing user stories, and managing backlogs.

* Technical depth in both front-end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React/Angular) and back-end (Java, Python, C++, APIs).

* Strong knowledge of private cloud capabilities (compute, storage, network, middleware, database, observability, security).

* Experience with public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).

* Familiarity with developer tooling ecosystems (CI/CD, GitHub, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Postman, etc.).

* Exposure to Generative AI/LLMs, co-pilots, and AI-enabled developer tooling.

* Strong ability to use metrics and data-driven insights to influence priorities.

* Hands-on familiarity with Rally, Jira, or Jira Align.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 131,600.00 to 190,650.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
