The Senior Manager Mechanical Engineering leads the development and maintains the technical knowledge of the department. Detailed knowledge of both the technologies being used by our clients and the technology that we need to deploy to meet our clients' needs. Leads the development of processes and procedures within their assigned discipline. The Senior Manager Mechanical Engineering will also manage a team of engineers and designers responsible for producing construction documents in a team environment for the following systems: HVAC wet/dry, plumbing, controls and the like.

- Mentors, trains, and develops department staff on technical skills and knowledge.
- Leads discipline trainings, develops training materials and delivers training sessions in areas deemed necessary based on staff feedback, personal observations and company directives.
- Routinely holds technical trainings and mentors department staff.
- Provides leadership on Quality Assurance by ensuring industry standards, best practice and company procedures are maintained and implemented.
- Leads quality control reviews of major design packages.
- Leads in the vetting of tools, software and outside resources that will strengthen the discipline.
- Partnering with the Director of Engineering, develops and maintains the project execution plan for the discipline.
- Partnering with the Director of Engineering, identifies resources/teams required to carry out design and construction work in the discipline.
- Contributes to the development of project proposals and strategies for projects Exyte is pursuing.
- Key discipline contact and SME working with clients and concept development team during the early stages of the project to identify clients' goals and requirements, develop concepts and systems to meet those goals, identify the project team, schedule and budget.
- Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
- Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by discipline team.
- Serves as the SME and client relationship manager on specific projects.
- In partnership with the Project Discipline Lead (PDL), plans and schedules discipline deliverables and activities including man-hour estimation, assigning personnel, and supervision of discipline personnel on the Projects.
- Collaborates and directs the PDL and System Leads in establishing engineering tasks for the design of utilities and HVAC (wet/dry) systems for high technology facilities including cleanrooms, general manufacturing/process facilities and institutional facilities
- Reviews the engineering calculations provided by design engineers in support of HVAC systems design including heat load calculations, duct sizing, chilled water hydraulics, static pressure calculations, equipment sizing and selection.
- Develops manpower and labor cost requirements for a project and monitors them to aid in evaluating project schedule and budget.
- Works closely with the project team and other disciplines as well as other design offices
- In partnership with other disciplines, prepares and develops the deliverables to ensure the disciplines' inputs are incorporated.

Minimum Required
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 10+ years of related experience
- 4+ years managing people and leading a team
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Experience working within a team environment
- Experience in the quality control review process.
- Thorough knowledge of codes and common industry standards related to the design of industrial and manufacturing facilities and systems
Preferred
- Nation Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Record preferred
- Consulting engineering experience
- Experience contributing to continuous improvement processes
- Advanced Technology experience preferred
