Job Duties:

ARES Corporation is seeking a Contract Manager with Government contracting experience. This position will be based at our McLean, VA office and will be eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

The selected individual will:

  • Provide cradle to grave contract administration of prime contracts and subcontracts in accordance with contract requirements, federal/agency regulations, company policies and procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and execute a broad range of contracts and agreements.
  • Complete comprehensive reviews of customer contracts and terms and conditions.
  • Provide interpretation of contract terms and conditions to management and other functional groups.
  • Identify and manage contract changes, act as a focal point for internal and external (customer) communications on contract matters and resolve customer and contract problems and issues.
  • Advise management on contractual matters; compile and analyze data/information; maintain historical information/files.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of three years of directly relevant experience in a contracts management position.
  • Experience in contracting with the U.S. government; experience in aerospace is desired.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), as well as various U.S. government contract types.
  • Knowledge of Federal contract formation and proposal preparation.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong planning and organization skills. Proven attention to detail and the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work with a team at all levels of an organization, including ability to effectively interact with and engage senior management both internally and externally on key issues during the contract and compliance process.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel.
  • Contract certification (CCM, CPCM, or CFCM) is desired.
  • US Citizenship required
