POSITION OVERVIEW
Provide legal and compliance guidance and advice on all aspects of data privacy for FedEx Freight and its subsidiary. Day-to-day responsibility for, among other things, advising FedEx Freight, Inc. and its subsidiaries (the Company) on compliance with internal policies and external laws and regulations, as well as supporting the Compliance group in the implementation and management of compliance programs.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Support the Compliance group, as appropriate, with overall implementation and management of Compliance programs, with a primary emphasis on data privacy. Advise other members of the Legal Department with respect to litigation matters
2. Provide legal counsel and advice to management and other stakeholders on compliance-related solutions for policies, procedures, technologies, and business initiatives Conduct and/or participate in litigation or administrative proceedings affecting the company's interests
3. Remain abreast of laws, regulations, best practices, and trends related to Company compliance programs generally and to the data privacy program specifically
4. Collaborate closely with internal Information Security stakeholders to ensure alignment on policies and protocols related to data privacy for the Company
5. Work with IT as needed to develop, implement, and audit technological applications and functionalities to remain compliant with evolving compliance laws and regulations, with a primary emphasis on data privacy
6. Actively provide consultative support and advice to management and employees in the U.S., Canada and Mexico about data privacy issues and FedEx Freight compliance programs
7. Monitor litigation trends related to privacy laws and regulations and collaborate with Litigation team and other stakeholders on litigation avoidance and defense
8. Promote a culture of ethics, compliance, and integrity in alignment with the Company's goals and business objectives
9. Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS
* Juris Doctorate Degree from an A.B.A. accredited law school plus ten (10) or more years' practice experience and demonstrated competence as an attorney
* Required license to practice law and admission to bar, either full or in-house
* At least three (3) years' experience practicing law with an emphasis on legal compliance, including data privacy and internal privacy programs. IAPP certification strongly preferred
* Knowledge and experience with multinational corporate compliance programs, including experience working with on compliance-related issues in U.S., Canada and Mexico
* Knowledge and experience with enterprise risk management and/or compliance risk assessment programs
* Excellent organizational, communications, project management and human relations skills
* Ability to interact with and support employees and leadership across all organizational levels
