Job Summary
The Plant Operations Director is a Senior Management position that is responsible for managing and organizing the operations of the facility including maintenance, housekeeping, IT/Purchasing, transportation, and dietary while maintaining compliance with all applicable codes and standards of government and regulatory agencies. This position also serves as applicable codes and standards of government and regulatory agencies. This position also services as the facility's Safety and Security Officer and serves on the Safety/Risk Management Committee.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Degree in facility management or related field preferred; or equivalent in trade school degree and/or related experience.

Experience: A minimum of 6 years related experience with at least one year of management experience. Must have experience with reading blueprints and understand Life Safety Code and OSHA Regulations.

Additional Requirements: Must have comprehensive knowledge of the physical plant within ninety (90) days and be able to speak fluently in front of audiences. Must have experience in operation of a variety of hand/power tools and equipment ensuring proper safety precautions. Experience in the area of building maintenance. Must be able to communicate in a clear and concise manner.

  • Oversee, plan, organize and direct the day-to-day activities of all maintenance and housekeeping personnel.
  • Serve as the Chairman of Safety Committee and assumes the role as the facility safety and security officer while developing, implementing, and directing the facility's environment of care programs.
  • Ensure the facility meets necessary standards set forth by JCAHO, federal, state and local laws concerning the operation of the facility
  • Participate in the annual budget preparation
  • JCAHO and state surveys.
  • Support facility-wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives.

PHYSICAL REQUIREEMTNS, MENTAL, AND SPECIAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to work a 40-hour week and overtime as needed
  • Ability to move continuously is required in the completion of job requirements.
  • Ability to operate machinery and equipment as listed below.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, balance, push, pull and twist.
  • Ability to see well enough to read handwritten and typewritten materials.
  • Ability to hear should with or without correction.
  • Good hand and finger dexterity for the use of tools and equipment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. may be required without assistance.
  • Ability to work under any weather conditions inside or out without regard for temperature, anytime of day or night.
  • Visual acuity is needed for accurate reading of documents.
  • Ability to drive a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to handle a variety of repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to exert up to 80 pounds of force to move objects.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
