Scope of Position The Revenue Cycle at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is committed to delivering exceptional customer service while executing key operational functions that support patient care and financial sustainability. These functions include scheduling appointments, procedures, surgeries, and admissions; verifying insurance and demographic information; and supporting billing and cash collection processes. The Revenue Cycle encompasses areas such as scheduling, pre-registration, pre-certification, financial clearance and counseling, financial assistance, billing, claims follow-up, customer service, and cash collection. Staff within the Revenue Cycle are expected to perform duties that ensure the accurate and timely collection of net revenue for services rendered, while maintaining a patient-centered approach. Within this framework, the Senior Scheduling Coordinator in Imaging Services plays a critical role in Radiology Administration by providing advanced scheduling support across multiple imaging modalities. This position focuses heavily on scheduling functions and includes minimal registration responsibilities. The Senior Coordinator serves as a key liaison between patients, referring providers, imaging technologists, and internal teams, ensuring seamless coordination of imaging services. The role requires expert knowledge of imaging workflows, scheduling systems, and preparation protocols, particularly for complex exams such as MRI and CT. The Senior Coordinator also supports operational efficiency by eliminating scheduling gaps, optimizing equipment utilization, and providing leadership in training and escalation support. Position Summary The Senior Scheduling Coordinator in Imaging Services is an advanced role within Radiology Administration, providing nonmedical support to patients, imaging technologists, clinical care teams, and the organization. This position builds upon the foundational duties of PAC I and PAC II, requiring deep expertise in imaging workflows, scheduling systems, and coordination across multiple modalities and locations. Senior PACs serve as key liaisons, delivering accurate, up-to-date information to referring providers, clinical staff, payers, and patients regarding imaging services and procedures. They demonstrate advanced proficiency in helping patients understand complex scheduling and preparation requirements for imaging exams, including MRI and CT, and are responsible for ensuring seamless coordination throughout the patients imaging journey. Minimum Qualifications For Hire:Per CCS Class Specs: High School Diploma or GED. PC Knowledge and interpersonal, verbal, and written communication. Minimum 1.5 years of experience in patient access or similar field. Employee demonstrates strong problem solving and customer service skills. Able to prioritize and coordinator multiple tasks in busy environment. |
