DESCRIPTION OF WORK

You will engage in the skilled maintenance and repair of a wide variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, tractors, and construction equipment such as rollers and mixers, along with powered hand tools. Your responsibilities will include executing repairs and establishing a preventive maintenance program for these vehicles and equipment. This will involve tasks like oil changes, mechanical diagnostics, tune-ups, tire replacements, and repairs to engine sub-assemblies, cooling systems, and various vehicle systems, including suspension, electrical, heating, air conditioning, fuel, brakes, steering, and driveline. You will ensure that all repairs comply with required specifications, conduct road tests, complete inspection documentation, and affix inspection stickers to vehicles. Additionally, you will service diesel equipment through oil changes, filter replacements, and repairs on water pumps and gaskets, while addressing issues in electrical, cooling, suspension, and driveline systems. You will also perform necessary field adjustments to ensure safe operation and minimize wear, carry out minor repairs and preventive maintenance tasks, and demonstrate repair techniques to colleagues. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Work hours subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs, winter shifts are 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM or 12:00 PM or 8:00 PM.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $55,492 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or
- Completion of an approved apprenticeship; or
- Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
- This position requires possession of a valid Class 1 Inspection Mechanic certificate or equivalent that allows inspection for Class 1 vehicles.
Post Employment Requirement:
- This position requires candidate to obtain a CFC-12 Refrigerant Recycling Certificate, a 134A Refrigerant Recycling Certificate, or a Compressed Natural Gas Certificate.
Additional Requirements:
- Must supply own tool box and basic tools
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass criminal history and background investigations if you do not have a current Pennsylvania State Police background on file.
