The PositionThe Opportunity: The Point of Care Support Specialist is a field-based position that is responsible for providing instrument installation services for Roche Diagnostic products. This position may perform minor troubleshooting during installation to ensure readiness for performance validation. This position will require approximately 95% travel including overnight travel to customer sites. Key Roles & Responsibilities * Install, maintain and repair Roche Point of Care equipment * Educate end users on Roche Point of Care equipment * Perform site surveys, installations and approved modifications with minimum assistance/supervision * Install connectivity solutions as part of completing instrument installations * Schedule modifications as indicated in the TSB and per policies during installations * Identify, analyze and resolve IT product problems during installations and escalated service calls * Monitor communication devices during all scheduled times * Support technical issues during the installation process to ensure installations are completed successfully * Act as crew team lead to ensure and maximize efficient completion of installations * Document all service related activities (inventory, SOs, expense reports, etc.) * Process interim updates and email downloads daily * Process service order close-outs at end of each customer site visit Who You Are You use solid judgment and take the initiative to apply advanced knowledge and skills to install instruments in a laboratory setting. You understand the implications of your work and make recommendations for solutions. You seek autonomy in your role on daily basis assignments and determine methods and procedures for new assignments. Minimum Requirements - High school diploma and 2 years of technical school or equivalent military training or equivalent work experience - 2 years progressive experience repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software or networking/wireless networking or equivalent military experience Preferred Qualifications * Reside within 50 miles of a major metropolitan airport * Able and willing to travel approximately 95%, including overnight travel * Able and willing to work after hours, provide weekend and holiday support on a rotational basis within an assigned territory and/or geographic region, and be on call 24/7 during rotation * Advanced knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, and information technology * Knowledge of basic chemistry * Effective customer service skills, which includes a positive attitude, helpful customer interaction, and maintenance of ongoing customer relationships * Effective time-management, organization and prioritization skills * Good written/verbal communication skills * In-depth knowledge of point-of-care(POC) structures and familiarity with POC instruments and their applications in a hospital setting. * Familiarity with Roche and/or competitor point of care products Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. The expected salary range for this position, based on the primary location of Indianapolis, is $ 54,700 - $ 101,500 of hiring range. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
