Optum is seeking a pharmacist to operationalize clinical components of actuarial forecasting tools and execute clinical research as needed to support broader PAS (Pharmacy Advisory Services) projects. The position is with Pharmacy Advisory Services, which sits in Optum Advisory Services within OptumInsight. The position will report to the Director of Pharmacy Advisory Services. This is a telecommute role.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform ongoing horizon scanning and maintain documentation of emerging disruptive technologies in the pipeline
  • Develop and translate clinical modeling assumptions for forecasting tools - HTP (Health Technology Pipeline) and GCT (Gene and Cell Therapy) for stakeholders and participate in validation related activities
  • Proactively work with stakeholders to maintain forecasting tool related timelines, clinically focus client-facing collaterals, HTP operational processes, and relevant reporting
  • Collaborate to push out "hot topics" and technology updates to stakeholders for pipeline and new drug awareness
  • Assist with logistics for the pipeline program series, and other initiatives
  • Support clinical research requests tied to broader PAS project work
  • Partner with Sr. Consultants to source leads and initiate outreach for business development

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Pharmacy (BPharm or PharmD)
  • Pharmacy licensure in a minimum of one state
  • 3+ years experience managing drug pipeline scanning or drug information related residency/fellowship
  • 3+ years experience in consulting, pharmacy benefits management, other managed care, settings, and/or hospital and providers networks
  • Proficient in MS Office and Windows-based systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with predictive analytics, health technology assessment, government programs, actuarial modeling, formulary strategy, and/or 340B pricing.
  • Proven solid communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to support programs and projects in a fast-paced, client-facing environment with evolving priorities

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $110,200 to $188,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
