Supplier Strategy Manager - Medical-Surgical Division

Location: Richmond, VA

Shape the Future of Supplier Partnerships at McKesson!

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for building strong supplier relationships? McKesson is seeking a Supplier Strategy Manager to lead our engagement with Approved Suppliers in the Medical-Surgical division. This is a dynamic role where you'll negotiate impactful contracts, drive supplier alignment with our business goals, and ensure our partnerships deliver real value to our customers and organization.

What You'll Do

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Approved Suppliers within the Medical-Surgical division.

  • Communicate McKesson's expectations and ensure supplier adherence to our standards.

  • Represent supplier needs internally while ensuring alignment with contractual terms and strategic goals.

Contracting & Negotiation

  • Negotiate and manage contracts with Approved Suppliers to ensure alignment with McKesson's value proposition.

  • Collaborate with Category Managers and the Contract Excellence team to onboard new suppliers.

  • Offer and contract for value-added programs including freight solutions, incentive packages, data services, and supply chain enhancements.

Strategic Alignment & Financial Oversight

  • Ensure supplier agreements support broader category strategies and business objectives.

  • Plan, forecast, and track key financial metrics tied to supplier performance.

  • Identify opportunities to optimize supplier contributions and drive profitability.

Issue Resolution & Internal Collaboration

  • Resolve supplier-related issues impacting sales teams, customers, or back-office operations.

  • Partner across departments to ensure smooth implementation of supplier agreements and initiatives.

What You Bring

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Critical Skills

  • Strong stakeholder management

  • Strong negotiation and contract management experience

  • Financial acumen and ability to manage performance metrics.

  • Excellent problem-solving and prioritization skills.

  • Clear, persuasive communication-both written and verbal.

  • Persistent, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset.

Preferred Skills

  • Understanding of McKesson's business model and supplier value drivers.

  • Familiarity with profitability levers in the Medical-Surgical space.

  • Experience working cross-functionally in a matrixed organization.

Work Environment: General office demands.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$68,400 - $114,000
