The Safety Policy team is at the forefront of understanding the relationship between digital platforms and the safety and well-being of young people, as well as the broader global community. This role focuses specifically on youth safety and well-being in the context of rapidly evolving AI technologies. You will collaborate extensively with internal teams and external stakeholders to navigate complex policy challenges, drive pragmatic solutions, and ensure that safety remains a core tenet of our online environments. This position offers a unique chance to influence global policy, foster innovation, and contribute to a safer digital world. **Key Responsibilities**
* Advise and collaborate with a diverse range of internal cross-functional teams and external experts to inform product, operations, and policy strategies, with a focus on youth safety and well-being.
* Proactively identify new and emerging issues related to youth safety and AI, developing collaborative solutions with internal partners.
* Engage with external organizations, civil society, policy stakeholders, and industry peers to advance youth safety initiatives.
* Inform and shape content and product policies, tools, operational responses, programs, and resources through expert insights.
* Provide strategic guidance and support to internal teams working on public policy, content policies, tools, operational responses, programs, communications, and resources related to youth safety and well-being.
* Partner with policy, operations, product, integrity, and program teams to empower users to build safe connections and communities.
* Represent the company in discussions with policymakers and key safety policy stakeholders, articulating complex policy positions effectively. **Minimum Qualifications**
* 5+ years of professional experience in academia, technology, and/or policy sectors.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with policy stakeholders and policymakers in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
* Proven experience working cross-functionally and building consensus with numerous teams across public affairs, legal, operations, programs, and product.
* Strong analytical skills, exceptional writing abilities, and a robust work ethic, with meticulous attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to convey complex information to product managers, engineers, researchers, executives, and diverse audiences, including proficiency in drafting formal policy documentation.
* Ability to produce results under tight deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and find pragmatic, creative solutions to business challenges.
* Demonstrated ability to provide concise, business-focused advice and make sound judgments. **Preferred Qualifications**
* Experience advising on AI technologies and other online products and platforms.
* Familiarity with adversarial simulation and red-teaming methodologies.
* A comprehensive understanding of AI policy and technology issues, including key stakeholders, research initiatives, and relevant industry trends.
