STS Technical Services is hiring Tool Management Specialists to join our client's growing team in Ridgeland, South Carolina. This is a direct-hire opportunity offering stability, great benefits, and the chance to make an impact supporting critical production and maintenance operations.


About the Role

The Tool Management Specialist is responsible for maintaining, issuing, and tracking all tools and equipment stored in the tool crib. This role ensures that production and maintenance teams have the tools they need, when they need them, while maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting timely replenishment. The Tool Management Specialist plays a vital role in minimizing downtime and keeping operations running smoothly.


Key Responsibilities

?*?Maintain accurate inventory of tools, supplies, and consumables within the tool crib
?*?Issue and track tools checked in/out by employees, ensuring accountability and proper usage
?*?Inspect tools for wear, damage, or calibration needs before reissuing
?*?Place purchase requests and orders for new tools, replacements, and consumables as required
?*?Monitor stock levels to ensure critical tools and supplies are readily available
?*?Maintain a clean, organized, and secure tool crib environment
?*?Support vendor relationships by coordinating orders, deliveries, and returns
?*?Provide basic user guidance on tool usage, handling, and storage
?*?Maintain accurate records and reports related to tool crib operations, inventory, and purchasing
?*?Support continuous improvement initiatives for inventory control and tool management systems
?*?Perform other related duties as assigned


Required Skills & Abilities

?*?Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
?*?Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and manufacturing/maintenance equipment
?*?Experience using computer systems for inventory tracking and purchasing (ERP or similar preferred)
?*?Excellent communication and customer service skills to support production teams
?*?Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a manufacturing environment


Education & Experience

?*?High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred)
?*?Previous experience in a tool crib, warehouse, inventory control, or similar environment


Working Conditions

?*?May require working outside of a climate-controlled environment for extended periods
?*?Personal protective equipment (PPE) required on production floors


Physical Requirements

?*?Walking, sitting, standing, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs
