  • May 4 - August 7, 2026
  • May 11 - August 14, 2026
  • May 18 - August 21, 2026

  • East (Southfield)
  • South (St. Joseph)

Job Summary

Corewell Health Digital Services is seeking a highly motivated Web/Mobile Development Intern Developer to join our Digital Experience team. As a member of a cross-functional group, team members partner with various roles in the business to deliver web-based solutions which enhance the end user experience for the patients, visitors, staff, and physicians of Corewell Health. Your tenure with the Digital Experience team would primarily focus on Corewell Health's Digital Front Door properties, including our Corewell Health website, Corewell Health App, and our Find a Doctor products.

Prospective candidates should be a self-starter, have a problem-solving mindset, be innovative, flexible, and always keep the user's best interests at heart.Our Digital Experience team leverages the Agile methodologies to drive our daily work. Bi-weekly sprints and Agile related ceremonies are cornerstones to our team's foundation. Additionally, exceptional communication skills and working within a team are vital for your success in this role.

As part of your internship, you may contribute to impactful projects such as:

  • AI-Powered Search Implementation
    Assist in integrating a new search vendor into the Corewell Health website. This project enhances the search experience using AI and personalization features, helping users find relevant health information and services more efficiently.
  • Custom "Find a Location" Experience
    Support the migration and customization of the "Find a Location" feature into the team's modern architecture using Contentstack and Jamstack. This work improves how users search for and discover Corewell Health facilities across regions.
Essential Functions
  • Under direct supervision, assists in analyzing and compiling the customer's business requirements.
  • Works with more senior team members in researching and preparing program specifications, and then with the design, development (including coding/configuring, testing, debugging and documenting) and implementation of those requirements into customer-focused programming solutions that adhere to the development policies and standards, and align with the Digital Services architectural design and customer's business needs.
  • Maintains accountability for completing support tasks as directed.

  • Maintains clear and appropriate documentation of actions taken.

  • May analyzes department processes and other Corewell Health systems encountered and makes recommendations improvements, as appropriate. Participates in quality monitoring activities/process improvement activities.

  • Communicates, collaborates, and acts as a team player with others in order to ensure continuity and coordination of services.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be Sophomore or Junior standing and is not expecting to graduate before May 2027.
  • Familiarity with relevant technology, tools and methods including: code development, configuration and component reuse; testing types: unit, regression, integration, system and exploratory; quality control, change control, change management and release management; troubleshooting; software and application development best practices
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript

Preferred

  • Familiarity with React & TypeScript
  • Familiarity with AWS: Lambdas, API Gateway, Kendra
  • Familiarity with Git/GitHub
  • Familiarity with Development languages: Python, .NET Core (C#)
  • Familiarity Agile-based processes (SAFe, Scrum, XP, etc)
