Technical Field Services Internship Summer 2026

This is a full time, 14-week onsite summer internship that will occur during one of the below time frames:

  • May 4 - August 7, 2026
  • May 11 - August 14, 2026
  • May 18 - August 21, 2026

Candidate will be expected to work from two Grand Rapids locations:

  • Blodgett Hospital (East Grand Rapids)
  • Medical Center (Downtown Grand Rapids)

Job Summary

Under supervision of a senior member of our team, works to provide exemplary customer service to our clinical and business customers in support of critical hospital operations and technical environment.

Learnings through shadowing, lab-oriented work, direct exposure to technical issues in production, and project support activities will equip the intern toward independence by the end of the internship - owning resolution of hardware and software related tickets and tasks, along with assigned projects.

Essential Functions
  • Under minimal supervision, working with and for the customers, responsible for the installation, replacement, repair and support of client technology, medical equipment and their systems.
  • Knowledgeable about the systems used within assigned areas of responsibility, providing troubleshooting and documentation for technology requirements and workflows, while ensuring alignment with Information * Services (IS) architectural standards. Serves as primary point of contact for problem identification, and helps drive issue resolution.
  • Performs event correlation/log analysis, failure analysis/reporting and root cause analysis.
  • Serves as resource on technology projects, and may take part in end-user training.
  • Participates in the testing of new client technology solutions and medical equipment, and provides constructive feedback throughout the process.
Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Currently enrolled in a university pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in area of accountability.
    • May also be a recent graduate from an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program.
