Job Description:

We are looking to hire a talented, highly motivated prospective engineer to be part of our team. As a Technology Development and Device Test Engineer with Microchip Technology, you will test semiconductor devices for characterization, modeling, and reliability.

Job responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Learn and perform the basics of semiconductor process engineering in order to understand how the process steps affect the functioning of the devices you will be measuring.

  • Learn and perform the basic measurement techniques for transistors (both bipolar and mosfets), diodes, capacitors, and resistors.

  • Learn the various reliability issues associated with semiconductors.

  • Test and analyze the results of reliability issues to calculate device lifetime expectancies.

  • Become proficient on the operation of lab equipment such as source measurement units (SMUs), LCR meters (inductance (L), capacitance (C), Resistance (R)), digital multi meters, oscilloscopes, wafer probe stations and other specialized equipment used to test for ESD (electrostatic discharge) susceptibility, etc.

  • Train on specialized software used to control the lab equipment.

  • Work with the appropriate process integration engineers on development activity.

  • Work with multi discipline teams to aid in the development and testing of new and existing technologies.

  • Perform the upkeep of lab equipment by having equipment calibrated and performing preventative maintenance.

  • Perform other job related tasks as directed by the manager.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Have a basic proficiency of programing language in, Visual basic, C++, or others that will be used in the programing of lab equipment and data analysis.

Education

  • Bachelor/Masters/PhD degree in electrical, physics, or computer engineering, or other similarly oriented program.

Benefits of working at Microchip

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in Colorado, is $68,640 - $143,000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
