Job Description

Associate Quality Engineer



Occupational Summary:


Position is responsible to lead, facilitate and support quality improvements in a machine shop environment using progressive problem-solving techniques and statistical methodology. Be part of and work with the Manufacturing teams to improve quality and develop solid corrective actions. Responsible for area quality metrics, data collection and analysis. Monitor key process parameters. Lead and support quality initiatives. Communicate quality aspects within a team approach to drive improvements. Daily interaction with operators and supervision to identify and improve product and process quality. Perform internal quality audits. Oversight and training of quality related process and systems.



Essential Functions:



  • Analyze Capability Studies and work with operators and Department Team when issues arise
  • Coordinate, perform and analyze Gage R&Rs and help facilitate improvements
  • Issue CARs to the department teams to facilitate RCCA investigations
  • Schedule Deep Dives for large scrap events
  • Conduct internal audits
  • Review DMR benches daily for signatures and or issues
  • Engage and support employees daily on quality issues and concerns
  • Analyze scrap data and report findings to the team
  • Support the creation of Quality Steering Committee presentations
  • Schedule and facilitate Department Team meetings to discuss CARs, Scrap, Rework, A3s


Education & Experience:



  • Four-year degree and ASQ certifications with prior aerospace industry experience preferred or two-year degree with machine shop experience required.


Job Skills/Abilities:



  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and daily activities.
  • Must be organized, resourceful, self-motivated and able to work independently.


Other Requirements:



  • Must be able to be flexible and respond to the changing needs of the organization.
  • All positions require successful completion of a pre-hire drug screen and background check.
