What this job involves

Our facility is currently seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Building Engineer to provide reliable, efficient maintenance and operation support for all building equipment and systems.

The position entails working independently and as part of a maintenance team to ensure optimal building performance. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented with strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance.

Essential Job Functions:

Building Operations & Maintenance: * Operate building equipment and systems as directed by Chief and Assistant Engineer and/or Facility Manager * Make necessary repairs and adjustments to improve operations of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems * Use best practices to troubleshoot and repair equipment and system issues in a cost-effective manner * Ensure issues are resolved in a timely fashion with minimal impact to the property or customers

Service Request Management: * Acknowledge and respond to all service requests timely, including:

• Plumbing: faucet and toilet repairs
• Electrical: lighting, switches, receptacle repairs, and motor replacements
• HVAC: respond to and troubleshoot hot and cold calls and calibrate thermostats
• Door Hardware and locks: adjust door closures, tighten hinges, and install hardware
• Fire Life Safety Alarm System: system maintenance and repairs * Conduct building rounds and readings * Follow up with customers to ensure all service requests are completed to their satisfaction * Escalate any issues to Chief Engineer or Facility Manager

Additional Responsibilities: * Foster a work environment that promotes energy conservation and continuous improvement of engineering functions * Perform inspection and troubleshooting of mechanical problems and building equipment * Execute preventative and unscheduled maintenance as directed

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
