Summary of Job Duties:Join the dedicated team at UAMS, part of the Women and Infant's Service Line (WISL), as a Registered Nurse specializing in breastfeeding support and newborn care. This position is an integral part of the interdisciplinary team, providing care and education based on licensure, title, and competencies. The RN seeks and provides feedback to enhance clinical practices, maintains an outpatient clinic focused on assessing breastfeeding progress and newborn health, and integrates theory and research into clinical practice to ensure high standards of patient care.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate's Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor's in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing
  • Valid Registered Nurse License
  • Minimum of one (1) year of Registered Nursing experience.
  • Minimum of at least 2 years Maternal/Infant experience in Hospital setting
  • IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) or CLC (Certified Lactation Counselor) Certified

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of at least two (2) years of Maternal/Infant experience in aHospital setting
  • IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) Certified

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Clinical Expertise: Proficiency in breastfeeding support, newborn assessment, and outpatient care.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with patients and the healthcare team.
  • Leadership: Capability to guide and mentor nursing staff.
  • Critical Thinking: Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Community Engagement: Skills in building relationships and engaging with communities to enhance program impact.
  • Resource Navigation: Knowledge of resources for women and infant care and the ability to guide families through life transitions.
