Summary

The Coffee Research & Development Internship will allow the successful candidate to enhance their real-life experiences and learn modern skills in the field they are studying. It is an outstanding opportunity to get hands-on experience on the manufacturing facility and understand how data is applied to make insightful observations, determine efficiency trends and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities
  • Complete studies on coffee manufacturing and liquid extraction processed, collect relevant data and provide recommendations based on data
  • Learn and utilize laboratory analytical tools to measure product changes
  • Using systems to their maximum potential and make reporting effective, efficient, timely, accurate, and insightful
  • Analyze current research and development processes; develop and implement ideas for improvement
  • Develop performance standards & metrics; implement analysis and reporting processes to monitor operational performance
  • Work on specifications creation and documentation
  • Other duties as assigned by R&D team
Requirements
  • Enrolled in Bachelor's degree program
  • Possesses real interest in coffee as a specialty product and a beverage
  • Experience with design of experiments, data collection and process analysis
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Students with a minimum of one year of major specific classes, preferred
  • Ability to work in a plant environment with exposure to loud, hot, cold, or wet environments
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk and climb stairs for eight hours per day
