Position Purpose
Serves as the primary contact and administrator for the Transportation Services Office, whose functions include Parking Operations, Driver Safety program, and liaison relations with Premier Coach, Advance Transit, Zipcar, and Enterprise. Provides high quality customer service to Dartmouth's faculty, staff, students, and visitors.

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Five years of administrative and customer service experience in a complex organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling multiple issues in a fast-paced, and deadline-driven work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated excellence in serving customers with professionalism and tact.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the full Microsoft Suite. Ability to troubleshoot computer problems.
  • High degree of judgment, initiative, and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Capacity to handle multiple assignments at any given time, often under time constraints.
  • Sensitivity to confidential matters.

Key Accountabilities


Description
Parking & Transportation Operations


  • Primary responsibility for day-to-day operation of the Transportation Services Office. Coordinates the process to systematically register over 4000 vehicles at Dartmouth College for faculty, staff, students, and visitors. Maintains various parking lot privileges based on employee status or other criteria set by Dartmouth's senior staff.
  • Coordinates the parking logistics for construction, conferences, events and visitors to the College.
  • Prepares parking schedules, permits and permit allocation.
  • Processes all financial transactions related to parking and transportation programs, including cash/credit card payments and corresponding receipts for deposit. Prepares and validates payroll deductions for parking fees and accounts receivable billings for unpaid parking tickets.
  • Processes all parking citations and appeals. Tracks vehicles towed and booted that are unregistered with the College and/or parked in a way impeding the safety of faculty, staff and students. Maintains driver safety information, including applications, motor vehicle records, driver safety files, etc. Keeps DOT files up-to-date and processes requirements for compliance with DOT and other federal regulations.
  • Ensures drivers meet all criteria to use vehicles on behalf of Dartmouth programs. Maintains current status of approved drivers and confirms on a timely basis the approved driver status for those renting vehicles through the Enterprise rental program.
  • Coordinates and schedules physicals for random alcohol and drug testing for CDL holders.
  • Runs and reviews management reports on parking and related collections data. Maintains parking statistics and lists of authorized vehicles at Greek houses.
  • Works in conjunction with other members of Transportation Services to help facilitate cross training of team members in the workings of parking operations.
  • Recommends process and policy changes regarding Transportation Services operation.

Customer Service and Other Office Duties


  • Represents Campus Services by providing high quality customer service and professionalism in daily interactions with customers. Demonstrates a high degree of diplomacy and tact when interacting with customers.
  • Assists with Mobility Rides program dispatching as required.
  • Works closely with Campus Services IT staff on Parking and Transportation related systems changes. Conducts test scenarios to ensure appropriate and accurate flow of information through the systems and brings to management's attention any system irregularities or problems.
