Job Title: Flight Ops Life Support Equipment Technician
Location: China Lake, CA /Edwards AFB, CA /Palmdale, CA /Henderson, NV (Primarily at China Lake but may need to go to the other locations to support program)
Duration: 12 months assignment with possible extension
Shift Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (20 hours per week, could be 40 hours at times pending need)
Pay Rate: $50/hr. W2
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance
Job Description:

- Client is seeking a skilled and motivated Aviation Life Support Systems (ALSS) Technician to join our Flight Operations team in China Lake / Edwards AFB, CA. This position will provide critical support for ALSS requirements across multiple military programs, including the F-15, F/A-18, and other current and future platforms. The ideal candidate will be a qualified ALSS technician with military, FAA, or equivalent certification and experience, capable of ensuring the highest standards of safety, maintenance, and operational readiness.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Perform inspection, maintenance, repair, and testing of aviation life support equipment, including flight suits, helmets, oxygen systems, ejection seats, and survival gear.
- Support flight operations by ensuring all ALSS equipment meets regulatory and program-specific requirements.
- Coordinate with flight crews, maintenance teams, and program managers to maintain ALSS readiness and compliance.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians and flight personnel on ALSS procedures and safety protocols.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ALSS technical orders, manuals, and regulatory guidance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance ALSS program effectiveness and safety.
Required Skills:
- Qualified Aviation Life Support Systems Technician through a U.S. military service, FAA certification, or an equivalent recognized program.
- Experience supporting military aviation life support programs, preferably with F-15, F/A-18, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of military and FAA aviation safety standards, technical orders, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
- Proficient in using maintenance tracking systems and standard office software (e.g., MS Office).
- U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in a military or defense contractor environment.
- Familiarity with multiple aircraft types and associated ALSS equipment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with diverse teams including pilots, maintenance personnel, and management.
- Ability to obtain a contractor Common Access Card (CAC) to military installations.
Required Education:
- AA degree in related discipline and typically 6 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
