Job Description
We are currently hiring a Utilities Maintenance Technician at the Samuel Adams Brewery in Breinigsville, PA This position is responsible for monitoring and maintenance of a 24/7 Brewery Utility System. Requires a high level technical competency with Utility Systems such as boilers, refrigeration, carbon dioxide, compressed air, water conditioning and chemical treatment, waste control and waste recovery. The ideal candidate is a technically capable, hands-on self starter willing to accept "operational responsibility" and available to work night shifts; including weekends. Night Shift Schedule Hours: 5:45 PM - 6:00 AM Rotation: 2-2-3 schedule (two days on, two days off, then three days on; repeating)
Pay: In accordance with pay transparency lawsthe pay rate for this role if hired is $34.78 per hour.

Responsibilities
Responsible for monitoring, diagnostics repair and maintenance of all brewery utility systems in accordance with manufacturer and company standards, including but not limited to:
- High pressure steam boilers and auxiliary equipment including fuel, water, and steam condensate return system.
- Ammonia / glycol refrigeration systems
- Carbon dioxide bulk unloading, storage, vaporization pressure control, distribution, and recovery systems.
- Waste water control facility including effluent conditioning
- Emergency response to brewery evacuation system and C02 alarms.
- Fire suppression system
- Brewery HVAC including dehumidification equipment
- Air compressors and compressed air distribution system
- Brewery feed water supply, pasteurization, conditioning, and distribution system
- Process motors, pumps, heat exchangers, sanitary sewer and ground water pumps
- Perform high voltage switch gear 69,000 volt switching under direct supervision.
- Work in and promote a team oriented and "Safety First" environment. Observe and practice all Brewery Safety Procedures. Includes wearing proper PPE at all times.
- Accurately document, record, and update utility readings and daily logs

Qualifications
- Fluent in mechanical or electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience in the installation and repair of mechanical equipment required.
- Experience and knowledge in the use of personal/process control computers, programmable logic controllers (PLC), and Networking devices a plus.
- 480v 3 phase knowledge required.
- Experience and or knowledge of VFD's, control systems (PLC's/HMI's), electrical protective devices.
- Basic understanding of statistical process control and problem solving skills required.
- Proven analytical, planning, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage time, be flexible, and shift priorities in a constantly changing, fast-paced work environment..
- Competent in using Microsoft Office, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
Working Conditions
- Operating environment is complex and densely populated with production equipment and forklifts that necessitates high situational awareness
- Subject to loud and constant noise
- Non-environmentally conditioned spaces which may lead to extreme hot and cold
Physical Requirements
- All production roles are required to pass a pre-employment physical exam to comply with their specific role requirement(s). Certain roles may require the use of a respirator and passing the associated fit test
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, sometimes repeatedly
- Regular walking and standing for long periods of time (up to 11 hours a day) on concrete, metal and grated surfaces
- Responsibilities may require crouching, stepping over, crawling under, bending, twisting, climbing and reaching above head and shoulders repeatedly throughout the day
- Responsibilities may require climbing flights of stairs, working from heights, on elevated platforms, or in confined spaces
- Ability to wear assigned PPE (safety shoes, gloves, facemask, hearing protection and hard hat)
- Established dexterity so you can handle materials, operate equipment and interface with computer systems with precision
- Some roles (e.g., forklift operator) may be required to sit for a prolonged period of time and have strong peripheral vision and depth perception
