Continuation past the termlengthdiscussed willbebasedonuniversityneed,performance,and/oravailabilityoffunding.POSITION SPECIFICS The Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at Penn State, University Park campus, invites applications for a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor position (non-tenure track) to begin in Spring 2026. Salary and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and experience. Responsibilities will include teaching up to 3 courses per semester. The courses include both classroom and online formats. Course relief and supplementary salary can be provided given additional service to the department including departmental committee work, contributions to outreach, and development of course materials, for example. The successful candidate will also be required to spend the remaining 1/3 of their full-time appointment performing cutting-edge exoplanetary science. The candidate should have demonstrated success at performing publishable research in this field, preferably concurrent with teaching university-level courses. The research support should come through relationships established with researchers at Penn State or through successful establishment of externally funded programs.
