As the DC Inventory Planning Manager at Crescent Electric, you will set and execute the planning process to ensure optimal inventory levels at assigned distribution centers. The plan must support customer demand, efficient branch replenishment, and balanced supply chain key metrics. You will collaborate both within the department, as well as with cross functional groups to drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance supply chain efficiency. In this role, you will leverage your effective communication skills, analytical expertise, strong working knowledge of inventory and replenishment strategy best practices, and a working knowledge of ERP planning levers.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Develop and implement planning strategies to optimize inventory and service levels in assigned DCs

  • Monitor and adjust DC inventory plans based on market trends, demand, and business priorities.

  • Ensure optimal DC inventory levels to balance cash flow and service levels.

  • Analyze inventory turnover rates and recommend adjustments to improve efficiency.

  • Collaborate with Supply Planning & Field Operations teams to optimize replenishment efficiency.

  • Work closely with Regional Purchasing Managers to ensure timely deliveries and resolve supply issues.

  • Ensure compliance with supplier agreements, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

  • Utilize data analytics tools to enhance decision-making and efficiency & drive team to do the same.

  • Conduct root cause analysis for supply chain KPI misses and implement necessary corrective actions.

  • Support super district inventory cadence calls to support sales & manage inventory

  • Support category management and purchasing teams in any supplier conversions required

  • Create insights into business, supply chain markets, competitors, and suppliers through fact-based analysis.

SKILLS:

  • Strong analytical skills (ability to manipulate large amounts of data in Excel, other tools)

  • Demonstrated ability to work with large data sets and draw actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within and across departments

  • Ability to balance conflicting metrics to meet optimal company objectives

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence across multiple cross-functional areas within supply chain, sales, and business operations.

  • Deep understanding of inventory planning methodologies and ERP systems (Eclipse preferred)

  • Demonstrated understanding of supply chain, inventory planning methodology, and strategic sourcing.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify process issues and drive improvement.

  • Track record of ability to work independently on multiple projects.

  • Ability to travel throughout the CESCO territories up to 25% of the time.

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel occasionally (up to 25%) with overnight stays.

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 3-5 years of experience working in supply planning, inventory management or related role.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Occasionally standing and walking. Most of the time sitting, use of hands/fingers, and talking/hearing. Often reaching with hands/arms.

  • Close vision needed (clear vision at 20 inches or less) to be able to view computer screen.

  • May be required to work more than 40 hours per week.

  • Occasional travel up to 25% with overnight stays.
