The Creative Director is responsible for setting and overseeing the creative vision of projects and brand campaigns across various media such as video, digital, print, advertising, and more. They lead and inspire creative teams: including designers, copywriters, photographers, and other specialists, to produce innovative and cohesive visual and strategic content that aligns with organizational goals. This role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for storytelling, a deep understanding of brand development, and strong ability to balance creativity with business objectives.

Candidates MUST have a strong background in video production and may be called upon to edit, direct, produce, and manage logistics for filming, as needed. Videographers are also on staff.

This is a 'player-coach' role that requires about 50% creative execution work and 50% team management.


Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and maintain the creative vision and strategy for projects or accounts, ensuring consistency and originality in all creative outputs.

Lead, manage, and mentor creative teams, fostering a productive environment, developing/coaching the team, and maximizing team talent.

Oversee the entire creative process from ideation and brainstorming through final delivery, including managing timelines, budget, and resources.

Collaborate closely with executives across company and cross-functional departments to align creative work with company business objectives and market trends.

Review and approve creative material such as video, advertisements, branding campaigns, websites, and multimedia content to ensure quality and effectiveness. Leverage learning to drive continuous improvement in systems and ways of working.

In collaboration with internal cross-functional leaders, develop new business pitches that push for innovative and original work.

Qualifications

10+ years in creative roles, with 3 years in a leadership and/or director-level position managing cross-functional creative teams.

B2C experience is preferred

Strong leadership and communication skills to inspire teams and interact effectively with external partners and stakeholders.

Expertise in design principles, brand development, and multichannel marketing strategies.

Proficiency with creative software tools (ex. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.), project management software such as Asana, and digital technologies.

Ability to balance creative excellence with business acumen, including budget management and strategic planning.

Experience in mentoring and career development for creative professionals.

Experience in fast-paced work environment with rapidly changing priorities and needs.
