Position Description
| Primary Purpose and Essential Functions |
The University of the Pacific School of Engineering and Computer Science invites applications for a Lecturer/Adjunct (part-time) faculty member with expertise in
Building Information Modeling (
BIM), Virtual Design and Construction (
VDC), and digital construction workflows
.
The primary responsibility of this position is to teach a cross-listed upper division/graduate level course in building information modeling) during the Fall 2026 semester, including the following activities:
- Manage all aspects of the course, including the development of course plan, development of assignments, grading of student work, and submission of grades. A comprehensive set of materials from previous offerings of the course will be available.
- Conduct two weekly classroom sessions in-person on the Stockton campus.
- Collect student performance assessment data.
- Hold regular office hours to support students.

| Minimum Qualifications |
- Master's degree in Engineering Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in project management in engineering or construction environments.
- Industry experience in BIM, VDC, or digital construction workflows including leadership roles in implementation or coordination.
- Experience teaching at the undergraduate or graduate levels.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Ph.D. in a related field.
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional).
- Prior university-level teaching experience.
- Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Industry experience in engineering or construction project leadership roles.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
- Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

$9,000-$12,000 ($3,000 per unit) (We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.) |
