FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TEAM MEMBER DAY SHIFT HOURLY RATE $30.00 Your seat at the best snacks table: The Industrial Facilities Technician ensures the efficient, safe, and continuous operation of all building systems and general infrastructure within an industrial environment. This role involves performing and coordinating routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and corrective repairs across multiple trades, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general carpentry. The technician must have strong troubleshooting skills and a comprehensive understanding of facility operations to minimize disruptions and maintain a compliant, safe working environment. Duties and responsibilities: Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance on all facility infrastructure, including HVAC systems (boilers, chillers, air handlers), electrical systems, and plumbing. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues throughout the facility, such as faulty wiring, broken fixtures, and clogged drains. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests, including power outages, leaks, and HVAC failures. Conduct routine inspections of building systems, equipment, and structural components to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. Coordinate with and oversee specialized external vendors and contractors for repairs, maintenance, and special projects. Perform general repair work, including carpentry (e.g., drywall repair, door hardware), painting, and minor construction projects. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repair logs using a CMMS (Maintenance Connection). Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA standards and company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout protocols. Manage and track the inventory of Facilities tools, equipment, and spare parts. Assist with groundskeeping duties as needed, such as snow removal, landscaping, and outdoor lighting upkeep. Conduct and document regular safety checks of fire systems, emergency lighting, and exit signage. Support facility moves, equipment installations, and furniture assembly as required. What you bring to the Best Snacks Party: Qualifications and skills: High school diploma or GED equivalent required; technical training or an associate degree in a related field (e.g., HVAC, electrical) is preferred. Proven experience as a facilities or building maintenance technician in an industrial, commercial, or institutional setting. Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in multiple trades, including HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and general carpentry. Relevant certifications, such as EPA Section 608 (for handling refrigerants) or specific trade licenses, are highly desirable. Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues and solve problems effectively and efficiently. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, managers, and external vendors. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and building blueprints. Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Physical requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy equipment, up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working in industrial environments, which may involve working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying temperatures. Capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders for extended periods. Willingness to be on-call for emergency situations outside of normal business hours.
