Overview

The Microcircuit Emulation Center at SRI International in Princeton, NJ, needs a Manufacturing Technician, that will work as part of a small team to perform experimentation and operational steps in a semiconductor wafer fabrication facility.

Through SRI's Generalized Emulation of Microcircuits (GEM) and Advanced Microcircuit Emulation (AME) programs, the Microcircuit Emulation Center supplies form, fit, function, and interface replacements for obsolete microcircuits. This capability supports production, redesign, and sustainment requirements for the life of a weapon system. SRI's Microcircuit Emulation Center is a government-supported, U.S.-based Trusted foundry.



Responsibilities

    Performing hands on operational work in a cleanroom environment through computer operated terminals at production machines that are used to create microcircuits.
  • Learn rules and regulations for working safely and in line with quality requirements in a cleanroom environment.
  • Learn and use software programs to support creation of manufacturing process steps, data collection and presentation.
  • Perform experiments, and execute operational steps to collect and analyze data using metrology equipment and methods.
  • Create Excel spreadsheets to collect and organize data and create PowerPoint presentations that summarize data.
  • Perform public speaking in small meetings with various manufacturing staff to discuss results and next steps.
  • Learn to operate metrology equipment including scanning electron microscope (SEM) to perform SEM work, thickness measurement using ellipsometry systems etc.
  • Interact with staff across different operational areas.
  • Consistently create and maintain documentation for work tasks and activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • BS in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related subject
  • Due to government contract requirements candidates must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Experience with the following: experimental planning, data organization, graphing in Excel, and making PowerPoint slides
  • Be able to write reports, and deliver PowerPoint presentations

Working Conditions

  • Able to work in cleanroom environment for significant portion of day - up to 7 hours
  • Monday - Friday, on-site, 8:00-5:00pm

The salary range is: $20.76-$27.51/hr. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
