Position Title:Director of Financial Crimes Business Unit:Operations Reports to:Executive Director of Enterprise Banking Operations Position Overview: The Director of Financial Crimes is responsible for leading a high-performing team of investigators, analysts, and risk professionals.Accountable for the architecture and execution of the newly developed financial crimes department, the Director will set the strategy, integrate cutting-edge analytics, provide regulatory expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and provide informed executive decision-making. Primary Responsibilities: Fraud Detection and Prevention Strategy: Lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide fraud detection programs, leveraging advanced analytics, behavioral modeling, and real-time monitoring to proactively identify and prevent internal and external threats. Risk Investigations Oversight: Direct complex investigations into suspicious activity across business lines, including AML, sanctions violations, cyber-enabled fraud, and insider threats. Ensure investigative rigor, documentation quality, and timely escalation of findings. People Development and Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team across multiple levels, including managers, analysts, and servicing specialists while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and individual professional growth. Regulatory Compliance and Engagement: Maintain full compliance with BSA/AML, OFAC, and other applicable regulations. Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and law enforcement, managing examinations, audits, and enforcement actions. Governance, Reporting and Risk Intelligence: Deliver high-impact reporting to executive leadership and board committees. Establish governance frameworks, performance metrics, and intelligence-sharing protocols to ensure transparency and informed decision-making. Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
