What your job will be like: TheEPSCI Scientific Software Developer will help debug issues and implement new features in highly complex, multi-threaded scientific software written in C++. They will work with domain experts in nuclear particle physics and high-speed data acquisition systems (DAQ). They will also contribute to front-end web applications that will include AI/ML systems for data quality monitoring and will occasionally code in Python and Java.
In this role you will:
- Work with domain experts in Physics, Data Science, and Computer Science to develop highly efficient scientific software written in C++, Python, and Java.
- Maintain and document software developed with EPSCI participation.
- Support scientists using EPSCI software with new feature support, bug fixes, and training.
- Design and implement human friendly and efficient web interfaces which interact with databases.
- Present status of software and computer system at meetings of domain expert scientists.
Qualifications we require:
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, or related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Object Oriented programming in C++
- Python
- Use of Integrated Development Environment (e.g. VSCode or CLion)
- Figma website design with database queries
